Vignan brought about a revolution in the field of education in the late 70's. It rewrote the history of education in A.P with its first residential junior college in Vadlamudi, Guntur. Today Vignan is one of the pioneers in the field of education in the country. It has spread its wings accross the state and its students have successfully made a mark in their choosen feild all around the globe. It has established Engineering, Pharmacy and Management in Guntur, Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam and running successfully with the students intake of more than 20000 and faculty strength being 2000.Vignan's Institute of Technology & Aeronautical Engineering (VITAE), Hyderabad is one of the engineering colleges run by the Vignan group of Institutions, which was established in the year 2008. It offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and MCA courses.

VITAE is located at Vignan Hills, a sprinting 350 acres land with valleys and watersheds, with mango groves and greening around. It is situated at a distance of 35 kms. from Koti, Hyderabad.

Vignan's massive academic edifice is the precious brainchild of Dr. L. Rathaiah, a visionary educationist. He foresaw the rapid transformation of education into a highly professionalised and demanding environment. He developed a series of educational materials for public and competitive examinations and later established the Vignan's Residential Institutions in 1983. The success of Vignan's led to the mushrooming of residential institutions all over Andhra Pradesh and gave a big boost to the educational standards, with students from Andhra Pradesh grabbing the lion's share of the ranks and seats in IITs, BITS, RECs and many more reputed National Institutions.
